We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity from one of our members, SOCIB – The Balearic Islands Coastal Observing and Forecasting System, who is currently recruiting a Research Data Analyst to support their work within the Copernicus Marine Service 2 (CMEMS2).
This role focuses on the processing, quality control, and analysis of coastal High-Frequency Radar (HFR) data—an essential component for understanding and monitoring ocean surface currents in the Mediterranean region.
Key Responsibilities:

Operational data processing and validation of HFR systems

Integration and quality assurance of data for CMEMS2

Contribution to research, development, and service improvement activities related to radar data

Collaboration with national and international partners
Profile:

A strong background in oceanography, marine science, remote sensing, or a related field

Experience with data processing tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB)

Familiarity with ocean observing systems and radar technology is highly desirable
